The usual triggers are reports from other users, messages that read as copy-paste spam, or profile content that brushes against Hinge's guidelines. Occasionally it's a false positive from very high-volume activity in a short window.
How to fix it

How long it lasts
Hinge publishes nothing about duration, so anyone quoting an exact number is guessing. What the pattern suggests: a throttle triggered by a burst of activity tends to ease within one to two weeks once the behaviour stops, while one triggered by reports can persist much longer, because the reports do not expire the way a rate limit does.
That distinction is the useful part. If two weeks of normal, selective use changes nothing, you are probably not waiting out a rate limit and more waiting is unlikely to help.
Rule out the boring explanation first
