Hinge doesn't announce it, but profiles that collect reports or behave like spam can have their reach quietly cut. Your likes still send — they just reach far fewer people, so replies dry up.
How to tell
- Likes you send almost never turn into matches, even over a week.
- Your 'most compatible' and Standouts feel empty or stale.
- Incoming likes stop almost entirely after a normal run.
- You recently got reported, or sent a lot of near-identical messages.
Why it happens
The usual triggers are reports from other users, messages that read as copy-paste spam, or profile content that brushes against Hinge's guidelines. Occasionally it's a false positive from very high-volume activity in a short window.
How to fix it
- 1Slow down and personalise your likes — comment on a specific prompt or photo rather than sending a bare like.
- 2Review your photos and prompts against Hinge's rules and remove anything borderline.
- 3If nothing changes after two weeks, remove the account, wait a few days, and rebuild with fresh photos and prompts.
When you rebuild, lead with your strongest work — start from the best Hinge photos and pair each with a prompt that invites a reply.
